Jason Humphreys is a Perioperative Nurse – Surgeon’s Assistant (PNSA). Jason is keen to offer his assistance to you and your surgeons. He is available on short notice for ad-hoc lists, or if a regular assistant is unavailable for a particular list.
Jason started nursing in 1995, and commenced working the Perioperative Scrub/Scout area in operating theatres in 1999. In that time he spent extensive time in both public and private settings so has experienced scrubbing in all specialties. He commenced working as a full time surgical assistant in 2014.
As a result of his broad experience base he is flexible and willing to assist in any specialty as needed. Based in the Blacktown area near the junction of major motorways he can reach any part of the city in around an hour in an emergency.
Main Specialties:
General surgery; Laparoscopic and open surgeries including hiatus hernias, abdominoplasties, breast reconstruction and laparoscopic cholecystectomies.
Obstetrics; Caesarian section.
Orthopaedics; specifically spine, joint and trauma.
Neurosurgery, spine, and craniotomies.
Other:
Hand surgery, Head and Neck surgery, Vascular, Facio-maxillary and cosmetic surgery are areas of lesser specialisation, although Jason has scrubbed in all areas of theatres and is willing to try any specialty.
Jason has his Working with Children Check, and JH Surgical Assistant Services Pty. Ltd is covered by our own insurance. Jason will seek assisting credentials at any hospital as needed.
